This panorama, taken by James Blakeway, captures the excitement of opening night hockey as the home team, the New York Rangers, take to the ice to kick-off their season. One of the National Hockey League’s historic Original Six teams, the Rangers began their illustrious career in 1926. The team’s trademark red, white and blue logo and uniform, originally designed to signify their American patriotism, has changed little since then. The club enjoys the proud achievement of having been the first team to ever win the Stanley Cup, as well as counting amongst their ranks some of the most respected players in league history.
